The Initiative for Logic and Foundations

ILOAF – The Initiative for Logic and Foundations – is an independent international academic organization which aims at promoting research, education, and outreach in scientific domains related to Logic and Foundations, emphasizing an interdisciplinary perspective.

ILOAF was created in 2022 by researchers linked to the Individual and Collective Reasoning Group of Leon van der Torre (University of Luxembourg), which has also been for many years an academic home for Dov Gabbay.

ILOAF is intended to be a compact agile actor generating ideas and launching or accompanying projects with appropriate partners and expert boards. It will operate as a non-profit organization under Luxembourgish Law.

• Its inaugural project is the establishment of the Dov Gabbay Prize for Logic and Foundations.

Further activities are in the pipeline.
